A Joint Workshop across an Ocean
Yesterday, together with the organisation Graine Guyane, we held a fantastic workshop for educators in French Guyana. We immersed ourselves in the ‘1001 languages’ project and showed how to organise your own picture book workshop with children.
What an inspiring day of sharing and new ideas for valuing the linguistic diversity of the children's groups and reflecting it in their creative work! Never before have we had a workshop that combined so many different ways of communicating - trying out methods on site, video calls, WhatsApp messages; working in three languages and across borders and with a 4 hour time difference.
A huge thank you to the workshop leader Anna and to Graine Guyane for the wonderful collaboration! We are already looking forward to the first picture books from French Guyana!
