Saving the World, Just Like That
Have you heard of the ‘Office of Lost and Found Words’? This is a children's group that meets regularly at the Book Pirates' House, comes up with new words, crafts or paints them, plays theatre with them and tells stories about them. This group created the theatre play ‘Saving the World, Just Like That’, which they performed on stage in the Book Pirates' house.
Some of the young people from the book pirates liked the play so much that they turned it into a picture book for "1001 Languages". They watched the video recording of the play several times and used it to create a picture book text. The illustrations are photos from the play.
The picture book is now online and many more translations are already in progress. Translating is not so easy with all the play on words and colourful neologisms of the ‘Office of Lost and Found Words’, but most of the volunteers told us that this is when they really enjoy translating.
Have fun with our new Book!
