Newember: An illustration Gift from Illustrator of the Gruffalo Axel Scheffler to all new Patrons

We are delighted that Axel Scheffler is supporting us and will be creating an illustration just for ‘1001 Languages’! You probably know him as the illustrator of ‘The Gruffalo’.

That's why we're making this November a ‘Newember’ again. Everyone who supports us on Patreon by 1 December with an amount of 8 euros or more will receive an art print of Axel Scheffler's exclusive illustration as a gift. 
Also, if you as a Patron recommend other people who then become Patrons for 8 euros or more, we will give you an art print of the illustration as a gift.

The background:
You may already know that ‘1001 Languages’ doesn't receive any public funding. From time to time, we receive funding for individual projects from foundations. In the phases in between - up to a year and a half - we have so far continued our work without funding. This doesn't work in the long term to cover the running costs of the project. We are trying to build up a Patreon community in order to ensure the continuity of our work. Only as a community of many people who make a small contribution will we be able to continue to give children free books in their own language. And to continue to create a space where children's ideas and stories are heard, where they can experience self-efficacy and realise that their opinions count.

What we would like to ask you:
We would be delighted if you would like to become a patron in November and tell lots of people about ‘1001 Languages’. Only with your help can we continue to run ‘1001 Languages’ as before. In return, we will send you an art print of Axel Scheffler's illustration. And then you might just have the perfect Christmas present for one or the other Gruffalo fan.
